I’m smiling because this day doesn’t count.
It feels like a day set free from time
Because a grey winter morning
has interrupted my springtime.
Shadows have dissolved in the soft sun,
laying under a thick blanket of clouds.
I wear my winter clothes one last time.
I’m going to miss that fragile warmth
That I held close beneath my sweater.
I guess this is my chance to say farewell
To Winter, far from just fair weather friend.
Thank you, Winter. I’ll see you again at summer’s end.
