Resuscitation

The ashes and coals of abandoned fires

Sleep soundly in their soft, dry cradles.

The flames once fierce and insatiable

Are exhausted from their struggle.

Ice and snow mean nothing to the volcano,

after centuries of slumber, the magma remembers.

It only takes one spark to start an inferno.

Awaken the flames from the embers.

Bring to life the heart long entombed,

Like a seed in soil, to sprout and bloom.

Let water flow from the frozen spring.

Let the breath of life escape and sing.

The curse of death is lifted

By the passing of a breath.

The spirit astray is led home

By the soft touching of lips.

Change Me

A Beam of Holy Light
